Farnbourgh Roadshow

Late February and it's still snowing. Nice to have a proper winter though!

The Farnborough roadshow took place - a small (but perfectly formed) audience attended. With the usual mix of electronics design professionals we noted a distinct lack of musicians - roughly 30% of the people we meet at our roadshows have a musical bent.

Despite this, the event went exceptionally well and once again highlighted the benefits of using Altium Designer to streamline electronics design processes.

What to do with this blog

Well it sounded like a good idea - let's get some blogs. Now we have to fill the damn things with interesting stuff. So do we just spout stuff at random, get some themes going for discussion, preach to the converted or what?

All suggestions are welcome.

Edinburgh Roadshow - 20th Jan

The weather finally eased a little and the Edinburgh roadshow took place. As usual there were a few last minute dropouts but that didn't take anything away from what was a very interesting and pleasant event.

It is always a joy for me to spend time in Scotland and I love contrasting the nature of the electronics industry here with other parts of the UK. The roadshow was held in the Livingston area - the former entrance to the much lauded Silicon Glen. As we all know, the foreign-owned businesses upped sticks some time ago, but what we have now in this area is a vibrant electronics community with great local universities and proper support from the regional development agency.

As for the roadshow itself, the message is very clear - come and see for yourself. Altium Designer is one of the most exciting design tools on the market today and to appreciate it's capabilities all you need to do is register and come along. We'll be very pleased to see you.
